Ecstatic present a compilation of 2023 ready beats and vibes that offer a solidified vision of the labels singular aesthetic - loose rhythmic excursions, bleary eyed indie and dreamlike ambient collide and somehow formulate into a cohesive whole. Featuring label stalwarts Not Waving, Spivak, Romance and Primitive World, joined by stunning new additions Icarus, Horses and Raw Deal.
‘Peace Piece’ by Icarus playfully loops a bill Evans sample into a prayer like lament, Horses offers a Fahey-esque workout of strummed metallic chords that melt into cavernous drones, Raw Deal bring on a rugged block of 90s broken beat nostalgia with a hat tip to action thriller Predator, Not Waving supplies a limbic electroacoustic dreamwork, Spivak channels a sublime Grecian hymn to The Other People Place, Primitive World takes things downtown with a heavy club workout of breakbeat techno and Romance supplies a suitably elegiac piece.
